*New* Coloring the Past: Walking Through History on the Linear Trail

Posted Wednesday September 2, 2026

Coloring the Past: Walking Through History on the Linear Trail is a collaborate project of the Riley County Genealogical Society and the Riley County Historical Society & Museum.  Together, we set out to create a book that invites readers of all ages to explore the stories woven into our local area. The detailed illustrations by artist Hilary Wahlen make this coloring book truly one-of-a-kind, offering a visual journey through the people, places, and moments that shaped our community. As you color, take your time, and imagine how these scenes might have looked like long ago.

A special thank you goes to the
Arts & Humanities Association of Manhattan and The Strong Inn: Rachelle Routh, Owner for their generous grant and contribution supporting our printing costs.
